Kurinuki Specialty Coffee Cups
Production time
4–6 weeks
Handmade to order, crafted just for you.
Digital previews may slightly differ from real-life colors.
Specialty coffee cups carved by hand with the kurinuki technique. Each cup starts as a solid block of clay. We cut the outside with a knife and then hollow out the inside, so the facets, the marks of the blade and the weight are different in every cup.
The base is thick and the walls have weight, so the cup holds the heat and keeps the coffee at the right temperature for longer. The rim is thin, for a clean sip that lets the aroma and the taste come through.
We make them in any clay, from white ceramic to red and black clay, with the glaze and finish you choose: running glazes, satin or glossy, or raw clay left as it comes from the knife.
Four sizes: 60 ml for espresso, 100 ml for a double or a cortado, 130 ml for a flat white and 180 ml for a cappuccino.
Made for cafés, roasters and restaurants that care about coffee and would not serve it in just any cup.
Care: Hand wash only; care depends on the selected clay and finish.

Made to order — crafted for you, with the planet in mind
Every piece is handmade in Sofia, Bulgaria, only after your order is placed — reducing waste and allowing us to tailor each item with care. We don’t use pottery wheels; our techniques are slow, manual, and focused on form and detail. Slight variations in shape, size, or glaze tone are part of the process — and proof of its authenticity.
