Legged Plate from Black Clay
Black clay plate on a raised foot, with raw textured exterior and a deep blue glaze inside that moves like it was painted by the kiln, not by hand.
Price range: 95,00 € through 162,00 €
Made from black clay. Unglazed outside – the texture is left as it comes from the hands that made it. Underneath, a raised foot lifts the plate off the table.
The interior surface is built in layers. White porcelain slip is applied as an underglaze texture before firing – it creates the depth you see in the glaze, the way light catches differently across the surface. The blue glazes move over this texture, pooling in some places, pulling back in others. It is not a simple glaze on a smooth surface. It takes considerably more time and skill to produce, and it shows.
Inside, a blue glaze that behaves differently every firing. The colours shift from deep navy to cyan to near-white at the centre, with dark pools and bright bursts that land differently each time. No two plates have the same interior. We apply the same glaze – the kiln decides what happens next.
The shape is wide and shallow with an irregular edge. Generous space in the centre for composed fine dining plating. The dark exterior makes every colour of food read clearly.
Dishwasher safe. Suitable for professional service.

Made-to-Order
Crafted for You, with the Planet in Mind
Every piece is handmade in Sofia, Bulgaria, only after your order is placed — reducing waste and allowing us to tailor each item with care. We don’t use pottery wheels; our techniques are slow, manual, and focused on form and detail. Slight variations in shape, size, or glaze tone are part of the process — and proof of its authenticity.
All items are food-safe and suitable for heating and dishwasher use, except those decorated with gold or other lustres, which should be washed by hand and never heated. Handwashing is always recommended to preserve each piece for years to come.
