A little piece of sky
There’s something about the colour of the sky that makes a room breathe. So we were delighted to find our plates sitting among the blues in La casa in ordine’s latest styling story, “Sky in Every Room” — a warm, summer-all-year-round look at how a few blue pieces can bring calm and light into a home.
The feature takes the Y House in Bodrum, overlooking the Aegean, as its starting point, then wanders room by room through the objects that carry that holiday feeling indoors. Our porcelain and hand-glazed plates appear in the kitchen chapter, described exactly as we like to think of them: made to order in Sofia, shaped by hand without a potter’s wheel, and rooted in the slow traditions of Bulgarian craft. Elena Banfi writes that they “elevate the everyday and inspire us to find art in everyday life” — which is really the whole reason we started.
It’s a beautiful piece, full of ideas well beyond our own small corner of it. If you’d like to see the full story and the company we’re keeping, read it here:
